Our Tours

Why Choose Ibis Tours?

🛥

Our Own Floating Hotel

The only tour operator in Romania with a 4-star floating hotel. You sleep on the Delta — not in a town 30km away. This changes everything about the wildlife experience.

🦅

Specialist Naturalist Guides

Not just drivers with binoculars. Our guides are professional ornithologists and mammal specialists who have spent decades studying Romania's wildlife.

👥

Genuine Small Groups

Maximum 20 guests aboard the floating hotel, excursions in small groups of 5–8 per motorboat. Small enough that you can always hear the guide, manoeuvre the boat quietly, and enjoy the wildlife without crowds.

🐻

95%+ Bear Sighting Success

Our Carpathian bear hides deliver results. Over 15 years of operation, we've achieved bear sightings on more than 95% of evening hide sessions.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best time to visit Romania for wildlife?

May–June is optimal for birdwatching — breeding season in the Delta, maximum bird activity. Bear watching is excellent April–October. September–October is superb for both: autumn migration and active bears before winter. See our guides to birdwatching seasons and bear watching seasons.

Are your tours suitable for beginners?

Absolutely. Our guides cater for all experience levels from complete beginners to experienced wildlife observers. We provide binoculars and field guides on request. Many guests have never done a wildlife tour before — and leave completely converted.

How do I get to Romania?

Budget airlines (Ryanair, Wizz Air) serve Bucharest OTP from most European cities. Brașov (for bear watching) is 2.5 hours by train from Bucharest. Tulcea (for Delta tours) is 3.5 hours by road. We can arrange airport transfers for groups.

What is the floating hotel like?

Our 4-star floating hotel has 10 en-suite double cabins, a panoramic dining room, sun deck and observation lounge. Full board, 24-hour electricity and hot water. It moves slowly through the Delta — a completely unique experience no other Romanian operator offers.

Can I combine the Delta cruise with bear watching?

Yes — our 10-day Bird Watching & Bear Watching tour does exactly this. You can also create a custom combination; contact us and we'll design an itinerary around your dates and interests.
