About This Tour
During this four-day holiday we explore the Danube Delta β a wetland area larger than DoΓ±ana and the Camargue combined. From the comfort of our floating hotel, we explore a maze of channels and lakes, marvelling at the sheer numbers of pelicans, herons, and other waterbirds all around us. Our exploring boat takes us through small channels and shallow lakes where the best wildlife resides.

Day-by-Day Itinerary
Tulcea β Mila 36 Canal β Canal Magearu
The birdwatching cruise starts in Tulcea where the floating hotel is moored for embarking. At 9:30 AM we board the exploring boat and start exploration of Mila 36 Canal, Sireasa, Sontea, Lac Nebunu, Lac BΔclΔneΘti, Canal 22, Gorgova. The trip lasts approximately 5 hours. In Gorgova we rejoin the floating hotel and sail on the Sulina arm to the Magearu Channel, where we spend the night. Dinner after sunset.
Letea Village & Forest β Bogdaproste Lake β Mila 23
After breakfast (8:30 AM) we head for the famous village of Letea, arriving after two hours exploring the Magearu Channel with floating islands (plauri) and hectares of water lilies. After visiting the village we travel by horse-drawn cart to the Letea Forest β ancient oak woodland on maritime sand dunes. Wild horses, sand dunes, extraordinary flora. Afternoon: explore lakes Bogdaproste, AmiazΔ, CΔzΔnel and Trei Iezere. Evening: moor near Mila 23 on the Lopatna canal.
Mila 23 β Ligheanca β BΔclΔneΘti β Furtuna β Canal 36
After breakfast, explore lakes in the area of Mila 23, Ligheanca, BΔclΔneΘti, Furtuna β areas with many birds and superb landscapes. Lunch near BΔclΔneΘti Lake, then sail on board the hotel towards Canal 36 for the night. The afternoon is ideal for relaxing on the upper terrace, admiring the spectacular landscape.
Sunrise Excursion β Return to Tulcea
Optional early morning boat trip at sunrise (5:00β6:00 AM depending on sunrise time) to Lake CoteΘe and Trofilca Channel β beautiful areas especially with a well-documented guide. Return to the floating hotel for breakfast while travelling back to Tulcea. Disembarkation around 10:00 AM.
