Danube Delta Wildlife Cruise — 4 Days
4-day cruise · 4-star Floating Hotel · Letea Forest · Pelicans & Herons
About This Tour
During this four-day birdwatching cruise we explore the Danube Delta — Europe's largest river delta and one of the world's most important wetlands. From the comfort of our 4-star floating hotel we navigate a maze of channels and lakes teeming with wildlife: vast pelican colonies, Pygmy Cormorants, herons and hundreds of other bird species. Our dedicated motorboat takes us deep into the delta's interior, reaching habitats no land-based tour can access. Days end moored in silence, surrounded only by birdsong.

We welcome you at the embarkation point in Tulcea (Incinta Tulco) at 9:00 AM. After boarding the floating hotel we depart toward Crișan. At Mila 36 canal we transfer to the motorboat for approximately five hours of exploration through prime birdwatching territory: Mila 36, Sireasa, Șontea, Lake Nebunu, Băclănești, Canal 22, Gorgova. After breakfast (8:30 AM) we head toward the legendary village of Letea by motorboat — two hours exploring Canal Magearu with its floating peat islands and vast water lily fields. After visiting the village we travel by horse-drawn cart to Letea Forest: ancient oak woodland on maritime sand dunes, Europe's northernmost subtropical forest, where wild horses roam freely. Afternoon motorboat exploration of lakes Bogdaproste, Amiazǎ, Căzănel and Trei Iezere. Evening mooring near Mila 23.
